The counters are in (as of yesterday) an we’ve wasted no time piling up stuff on them. More pictures of it to come later.

The appliances (minus the dishwasher) are in. Just waiting on the counter, trim, cabinet hardware, plumbing and textiles and then we’re done!

  The counter is being measured as we speak…next up, installing the cabinet doors and Mom has some decisions to make – curtains, pendants, paint colors.  Then we can paint the room and dad can put up the trim.

The top cabinets are in, the bottom cabinets go in tomorrow, the appliances come tomorrow and the floors get the last coat on Wednesday. Ashley and Andy came over yesterday and helped put the cabinets in, painted the ceiling and played with me and will.

Now for the good news/bad news…Bad news, the counter won’t be measured until next Monday and it won’t be another 2 weeks after that until they’re installed. Good news is that means more cute pictures like this… PICNIC TIME!!!

Dad and I put rosin paper over the new floors because we’re ready to paint! Primer tonight, paint tomorrow and Sunday and then the cabinets on Sunday and Monday.

Today (so far):
The plasterer is done, mom’s at the wedding, dad’s on his way, Ashley and Andy are in charge of keeping us alive for the night and I lost my soccer game 5-0. I don’t really like playing soccer, I just like hanging out with my friends. On the bright side, mom is still sane!

Here’s a picture of our temporary kitchen/dining room for the next 4 weeks. On the bright side, the electrical is done, the plasterer comes tomorrow, hardwood floors go down Monday and the cabinets were delivered today. Oh yeah, we have 3 visitors staying with us for the weekend. Like I said, mom’s gonna lose it!

Mom grabbed me and Will and headed to the Cape just in time as Dad, Ashley and Andy destroyed the kitchen on Friday. Now we have to put it back together again starting on Tuesday. Dad’s hoping to have it done by July 4th but judging from his past projects, Christmas seems like a better estimate. Time will tell, although this time he’ll have help.
