Our Life in Pictures
We all (& Charlie!) piled into the car to make the 12 hour trip west to Cleveland. It was a packed 6 days of fun with Maw Maw and Paw Paw – eating, walking, touring downtown (USS Cod, Rock & Roll HOF), visiting Dad’s college roommate, collecting seaglass…
And, Maw Maw and Paw Paw took us to Cedar Point and Splash City for 2 days!
It was a typical busy weekend filled with a soap box derby, a street hockey game, pumpkin carving, buying apples from a farm stand to make apple crisp and, of course, lots of card games
Come visit us again soon, Paw Paw!
Paw Paw came to visit us last weekend. That meant the usual…
Captured in photos: reading, card playing (lots and lots and lots of card playing), picnic and ball playing at Castle Island, a trip to the Y pool that has big slides, breakfast out/Owen’s first taste of pancakes, and PawPaw and Owen at the farmers market. Not captured in photos: about 29 walks to Dunkin Donuts and 1 to BakerBaker (our local bakery), and some street hockey. Come back soon PawPaw!
We had such fun with Maw Maw & Paw Paw. We played card games, snacked on peanuts, attempted crossword puzzles, ate loco pops and downed milk shakes, enjoyed girls outings and boys trips to the park, admired ancient photos of dad as a handsome young guy, bought books, read books, enjoyed the Museum of Life + Science (butterflies! dinosaurs!), and looked for hiding kitties.
Thanks Paw Paw & Maw Maw! Your turn to drive up here!
Spring Break ‘13 and we all piled into the car for our first road trip as a family of 5 to see Paw Paw
& Maw Maw in North Carolina. What a trip!
First stop: the Beckers in Philly!! Pizza, playing, a sleepover and little boys who stayed up too late.
Second stop: Barack’s in DC! Walking, lunch, protesters and a lesson on the First Amendment from mom.
Destination: Durham, NC! Paw Paw & Maw Maw’s house.
(We had so much fun there we’ll have to do a separate post)
After three days in NC, it was time to get back on the road…
Final pit stop: Somewhere in Maryland, where we got to stay in a hotel and do lots of things we don’t usually get to do – watch Sponge Bob Square Pants, eat chocolatey cereal and even get free soap and shampoo! Then of course a dip in the pool before getting back on the road home.
Can’t wait for the next trip!
Owen has been occasionally rolling over for a little while now but he just did it during a nap at Paw Paw & Maw Maw’s for the first time. Back to worrying and sleepless nights for Mom!
We had a great visit with Paw Paw and Maw Maw! Of course we went to dunkin donuts every morning and played lots of card games and board games. Some exciting highlights were pulling out a few lawn chairs to sit on the sidewalk and watch our neighbor’s tree being taken down, and also hosting a “free stuff” table on the front lawn to get rid of some old stuffed animals and unused toys. The giveaway was heavily marketed (telephone poles all over the neighborhood) and was a big success – even the kids crafting table Anna used to hold all the stuff was taken, which Mom and Dad thought was unfortunate, but that’s ok!
Also Nana and Papa came to hang out for dinner one night and
Maw Maw cooked up a delicious pork dinner! It was good to catch up.
Lastly, we hit the Arnold Arboretum on Sunday for a nice sunny fall day and got a few nice family photos with our favorite little guy.
