Basketball! All it took was a basketball hoop and Mom is a happy person. She often goes out to “shoot some hoops” before the bus in the morning. We’ll see how long this obsession lasts…TAGS: sports
"I don’t want to go to sports class I’m not going to sports class I’m staying home from sports class." Then, got himself dressed and packed a backpack full of books and he’s ready to go! ⚽️⚾️TAGS: sports
It’s been a while since we’ve had a post for Owen, so this is what the golden child is up to:
Nothing unusual here. Just Owen fishing his “Auntie Chrissy Ball” out of the sink after an errant shot during a game of kitchen soccer
Spending Labor Day weekend on Cape Cod is a McDonald tradition. So is having a bad back and lingering knee trouble. What better way to annually celebrate a deteriorating body than to have a softball game!!! The game this year was the 5th annual. On my count of those playing, there were 4 bad backs, 6 bum knees and a bad shoulder or 2. That’s current, not past ailments! (Dad’s note: I have neither a bad back nor a messed up knee and I hit the first home run in McDonald Labor Day softball game history. Lefty. And I’m right-handed. Over the fence.)
The rest of the weekend was spent on the beach (with the Gormley Cup!), at an arcade, eating ice cream and a bunch of other stuff we don’t get to do once school starts.
My little brother Will turned 5 today and it was filled with a lot of his favorite things – and some new ones. Coffee cake for breakfast then off to his 3rd day of K1. Once school was over, he headed off to lacrosse practice then Chipotle for dinner (no more tacos but instead he ordered an ADULT SIZED BURRITO!) and last it was presents, a homemade cake by mom and facetime with aunts, ants and uncles.
Earlier this week, Will’s street hockey team – the Portland Buckaroos – won the Gormley Cup. Will scored a handful of goals and even played goalie in the semi-finals. He was a little too stubborn to put on the glove, blocker and mask though. Little brother Owen (pre hand foot & mouth) was there at the finals to cheer him on.
